Using Oncourse Assignments, how do I duplicate an assignment?

Note: This information applies to the original Assignments tool in Oncourse, which is no longer available to add to sites; however, you can continue to use it in sites that had it before June 3, 2011. For new sites, use Assignments 2.

Note: To complete these procedures, you must be assigned a role having the necessary permissions. To determine your role, follow the directions in Participant roles. To view a list of permissions associated with a given role, see Permissions, roles, and tools. For a basic understanding of roles and permissions, see Permissions and roles: Overview.

To duplicate an assignment:

  1. In the menubar, click Assignments. You will see a list of assignments.

  2. To duplicate an assignment, click Duplicate under the assignment's title. In the assignment list, you will see the duplicate assignment labeled "Draft - assignment title - Copy", where "assignment title" is the title of the original assignment. The Status will be set to "Draft".

Note: The duplicate assignment is a draft (i.e., your site's participants can't see it). If you want site participants to see the duplicate assignment, click its title, and then click Post.
