Using Oncourse CL Assignments, how do I add attachments to an assignment I created?

Note: This document applies to the default Assignments tool in Oncourse CL. For instructions for the pilot Assignments Beta tool, see Assignments Beta.

Note: To complete the procedures in this document, you must be assigned a role having the necessary permissions. To determine your role, follow the directions in Participant roles. To view a list of permissions associated with a given role, see Permissions, roles, and tools. For a basic understanding of roles and permissions, see Permissions and roles: Overview.

The quota for a course site or project site is 1GB, and the limit for individual file uploads is 200MB unless you use WebDAV. To request a larger quota for your site, see What are the default disk quotas for UITS accounts, and how do I request an increase?

To add an attachment to a new, saved, or posted assignment that you created:

  1. In the menubar, click Assignments.

  2. To create a new assignment, click Add. To work on a saved or posted assignment, click Edit.

  3. Fill in or verify any other necessary parameters (e.g., the title and due date), and then click Add Attachments. (If you are working with an assignment that already has attachments, this will read Add/remove Attachments.)

  4. Choose the type of attachment to add:

    • To attach a local file from your computer, you can either enter a path to the file, or click Browse and navigate to the file on your computer. If you choose the wrong file, click Remove.
    • To attach a URL, type the URL in the box provided and click Add. (You do not need to include the http:// prefix.) If you enter the wrong URL, click Remove.
    • To attach an item from Resources, click the Attach a copy link next to the file you wish to add. If you choose the wrong file, click Remove.

  5. After you have chosen the attachments you wish to make, click Continue.

  6. After you have added your attachment(s), click Post to post your assignment or Save Draft to save the changes. (If the assignment is currently open to participants, you will only have the option of posting the assignment.)
