In Oncourse, why did the Email Archive reject my message?

Note: If you use Umail, when you send a message to the address for your Oncourse site, it will appear only in your Sent Mail folder, not in your Inbox. This is due to Gmail settings documented in Gmail Help.

By default, the Email Archive is private, so only site participants may send email to it.

Additionally, if you're not using your Indiana University email account to send email to your site, the Email Archive will reject your email messages unless you change your authorized email address. For instructions, see Changing your authorized email address.

If the Email Archive rejects mail from your authorized address, check with your instructor or site administrator to make sure the permissions are set correctly for your role. If they are, and your messages are still rejected, then contact your campus Support Center.

Note: Your site owner may choose to let anyone send email to the site address. In this case, you could send email from any address, but you will still only receive mail from the site at the email address listed under Account in My Workspace.
