ARCHIVED: Why am I having trouble logging into Oncourse?

For basic login instructions, see ARCHIVED: Logging in. If you have trouble logging into Oncourse, check the following:
- Make sure you are typing your username and
passphrase
correctly on the
Central Authentication Service (CAS) login page. Both are case
sensitive; verify that your
Caps Lock
key is not on. - Your CAS login might be stale. This can happen if you click your browser's reset button, as appropriate.) button while in Oncourse. To resolve this issue, close and reopen your browser. (Instead of , use or the
- Check that your browser is set up to use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) connections. Most browsers are set up to use SSL by default.
- If you still have trouble connecting, try changing your passphrase. See
Change your IU passphrase
Once you change your passphrase, there will be a delay of about 20 minutes before you can log in.
- If you're using a
Guest account, check to see if you can
ARCHIVED: update your Guest account profile.
- If you cannot log into CAS with your Guest account, you may not have activated your Guest account after creating it. In the email account you used to create your Guest account, look for a message with a subject such as "Activate your IU Guest account now". Click the link within the message to activate your account.
- If you can log into CAS but cannot connect to Oncourse, you may not have been added to a site roster. In this case, you may receive the error, "Account not found." Ask your course instructor or the site owner to verify that you have been correctly added to the roster.
