With a BlackBerry, how do I create a distribution list?
Groups you create in your BlackBerry Address book function as distribution lists to simplify the task of mailing a single message to multiple recipients.
Note: Group mailing lists created on the BlackBerry handheld cannot be used from the Outlook desktop. Likewise, personal distribution lists created in Outlook Contacts cannot be used on the BlackBerry device. Both features are independent of one another.
To create a group mailing list on your BlackBerry:
- With your BlackBerry, open your address book, and click the
trackwheel to open the menu. Select
New Group, and type a name in the field provided.
- Click the trackwheel, and choose
Add Member. Choose a name from the list of contacts in your address book.Note: Contacts' email addresses must be in your address book before you can add them to a group.
- Click the trackwheel to add this user to the group. You may be
prompted to choose from multiple email addresses if more than one is
listed for the chosen contact.
- To add more users, click the trackwheel, select
Add Member, and repeat the steps above.
- After you have added all contacts to the group, click the trackwheel,
and select
Save Group.
To modify an existing group, choose the group from your address book,
click the trackwheel, and select Edit Group. Once the list
has appeared, you can add or remove group contacts or change the name
of the group; click the trackwheel to view your options.
