ARCHIVED: Using Oncourse CL Official Final Grades, who can submit final grades?

Note: To submit grades for a class for fall semester 2008 or later, use the SIS Grade Roster tool. The Official Final Grades tool is still available in course sites from previous semesters, but cannot be added to course sites for any semesters later than summer 2008.

By default, only instructors listed as faculty of record can assign and submit grades with the Official Final Grades tool in Oncourse CL. However, the faculty of record can assign this authority to one or more proxies by editing privileges within the Official Final Grades tool. For instructions, see ARCHIVED: Assigning a grading proxy. A proxy will have immediate access to enter and submit final grades.

Note: Only the faculty of record (and any proxies) can see the Official Final Grades tool in a course site's menubar. Although more than one person may interact with the tool (e.g., the faculty of record and a designated proxy), only one person can ultimately submit the grades.

Once you submit the grades, you can no longer edit them; the faculty of record must contact the registrar to make any changes. For contact information, see How do I contact the Office of the Registrar at each IU campus? Also, all grades must be filled in before submission (i.e., there must be no blank entries in the "Grade Input" field).
