ARCHIVED: Using Oncourse CL Official Final Grades, how do I assign a grading proxy?

Note: To submit grades for a class for fall semester 2008 or later, use the SIS Grade Roster tool. The Official Final Grades tool is still available in course sites from previous semesters, but cannot be added to course sites for any semesters later than summer 2008.

Note: To complete the procedures in this document, you must be assigned a role having the necessary permissions. To determine your role, follow the directions in Participant roles. To view a list of permissions associated with a given role, see Permissions, roles, and tools. For a basic understanding of roles and permissions, see Permissions and roles: Overview.

A designated grading proxy can use the Official Final Grades tool to enter and submit final grades on behalf of the faculty of record. To designate a grading proxy for your course:

  1. In the menubar of your course site, click Official Final Grades.

  2. Click Assign Grading Proxy.

  3. You will see a list of site participants who have the role of either assistant or instructor.

Note: A proxy must be someone who has one of these two roles. To assign the role of assistant or instructor to a site participant, see the instructions in Changing participant roles.

  4. Check the box next to the name of the site participant you wish to designate as a proxy. Click Save.
