Oncourse Profile: Overview

Note: A new profile tool, Profile 2 Beta, is available as an open pilot for all users via My Workspace. The original Profile tool, described here, continues to provide information for site rosters. See Relationship between Profile, Profile 2 Beta, and Roster.

What it does

The Profile tool (listed under My Workspace) allows you to enter or choose to display public and personal information, including a picture if available. The Profile tool can have institutionally or individually provided information about any user in the system. You can edit your Profile information, control access, and include personal images or institutionally provided images.

You may choose whether your information is public or private. When you are logged into the application, you may search for another user's profile, using this tool to obtain any information a user has made public.

Key concepts

Controlling profile information: You can edit your profile information anytime. Also, you can hide either all of your information, or just "personal information" such as your email address and telephone number.

Search: You can search for other participants' profiles by last name or username.

Things to consider

  • If you do not hide your personal information, it will be visible when others search for your profile.

Help documentation
