What is the 2005 IndianaMap Orthophotography Project?
Overview of the datasets
The Indiana Geographic Information Council (IGIC) worked in partnership with state and local governments to facilitate the acquisition of high-resolution orthophotography and digital elevation data for the entire state of Indiana. IGIC's Orthophotography Workgroup is composed of individuals from around the state who generously provide their time and expertise. UITS at Indiana University provides public online access to this imagery through the Indiana Spatial Data Portal (ISDP).
Funding for this project came from a number of stakeholders, including the Indiana Department of Environmental Management, the United States Geological Survey, and the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. Major contributions came from the Indiana 2004 State and Local Homeland Security Grant administered through the Indiana Counter-Terrorism and Security Council (now the Indiana Department of Homeland Security).
