Oncourse changes and enhancements
Semester archive
Course sites are archived after eight semesters (counting summer as one semester). The archive takes place at least two weeks after the last campus begins classes. The next archive (of fall 2009 courses) will take place June 4, 2012.

Changes for spring 2012
The following changes to Oncourse are available as of February 2, 2012. For background information about the Oncourse enhancement and development process, see Oncourse Enhancement and Development Process and Oncourse Enhancements Status.
- In Tests & Surveys, instructors can:
- Sort and filter the Event Log
- Add Gradebook comments for students who have not submitted the assessment
- Edit random draw questions in a published assessment
- Control formatting of questions using the WYSIWYG editor; currently, all questions appear bold to students, overriding instructor formatting
The following changes to Oncourse are available as of January 4, 2012. For background information about the Oncourse enhancement and development process, see Oncourse Enhancement and Development Process and Oncourse Enhancements Status.
- The look of Oncourse's wrapper has changed. (Basic
navigation remains the same.)

Assignments 2 now offers integration with
Turnitin.com for all course sites.

Tests & Surveys Beta has been renamed Tests
& Surveys to mark its promotion to full production status.
In addition, instructors can now:
- Export test grades to a file that can be readily imported into Gradebook
- See students' IP addresses in the Event Log
- Link multiple assessments to the same gradebook item
- Assign a relative item weight to assessments in a percentage gradebook
- Set or change the name of associated gradebook items
Changes for fall 2011
The following changes to Oncourse are available as of August 11, 2011. For background information about the Oncourse enhancement and development process, see Oncourse Enhancement and Development Process and Oncourse Enhancements Status.
- The default visibility for blog posts in Blogs Beta
changed from public to only visible to members of the site.
- In Tests & Surveys Beta:
- Instructors can update questions from a question pool in a random draw part of an unpublished assessment upon preview, publish, and export.
- Students' responses on random draw parts are included in the statistics instructors can see for those assessments.
- Section labels have changed to help instructors distinguish more easily between unpublished, published, and inactive assessments.
- Students have better information about how much time they have to complete an assessment when time is limited (whether by timed tests or through beginning a test within three hours of the final submission date).
