What is Stat/Transfer, and where can I access it at IU?

The Stat/Transfer program converts data to and from various statistical and database packages. For example, if you have data in a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet and wish to use the data in SAS, Stat/Transfer will translate the Excel spreadsheet to SAS format while leaving the original Excel file unchanged. In addition, any variable names or labels created in the original file will be maintained in the new file after conversion.

At Indiana University Bloomington and IUPUI, Stat/Transfer is available in the Student Technology Centers (STCs) and on the Quarry cluster. It is also available to all students, faculty, and staff for purchase. For further details, contact the Stat/Math Center at  smsale@indiana.edu  or 812-855-8007.

For more information about statistical and mathematical software, email the UITS Stat/Math Center, visit the center's web page, or phone 812-855-4724 (IUB) or 317-278-4740 (IUPUI). The center is located in Bloomington at 410 N. Park Avenue, and is open for consultation by appointment Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.
