On Big Red at IU, how do I run soft from within shell scripts?
The soft command is a function rather than a script or an
alias, and by default it is available only to interactive shells. To
use it in a script, you must source the file that defines the
function. On Big Red at Indiana University, you can source
/etc/profile.d/softenv.sh from within Bourne shells and
source /etc/profile.d/softenv.csh from within C shells.
