In Windows Vista, what should I do if I see a yellow exclamation mark next to the Microsoft ISATAP adapter in the Device Manager?

In the Device Manager in Windows Vista, you may see a yellow exclamation mark next to the Microsoft Inter Site Automatic Tunneling Address Protocol (ISATAP) adapter. If you view the properties for the device, you'll receive an error message similar to the following:

"Windows cannot load driver (Code 31)"

This error message doesn't indicate a problem with the adapter, so you can safely ignore it. Microsoft is aware of the problem with Vista that leads to the incorrect display of the message.

The information above is adapted from Microsoft Help and Support article 932520.
