In ePortfolio, how do I add an evaluation in the Wizards tool?

As an evaluator, you can use the Wizards tool to access, review, and evaluate wizard pages submitted by participants. You can also add an evaluation from within the Evaluations tool. For more, see Adding an evaluation using the Evaluations tool.

Note: To complete the procedures in this document, you must be assigned a role having the necessary permissions. To determine your role, follow the directions in Participant roles. To view a list of permissions associated with a given role, see Permissions, roles, and tools. For a basic understanding of roles and permissions, see Permissions and roles: Overview.

To add an evaluation using the Wizards tool:

  1. Log into Oncourse CL at: https://oncourse.iu.edu/
  2. Click the site you wish to enter. If you don't see the correct site listed, click - more - .

  3. From the menubar, choose Wizards.

  4. Click the name of the wizard you wish to evaluate, and then choose the appropriate participant from the drop-down menu. Verify that you are viewing the correct participant's wizard before proceeding (the name of the participant should appear in a message like "Viewing the READ ONLY Wizard of Firstname Lastname" to the right of the wizard title).

  5. You will see a list of the pages in the wizard and the status for each page. For a step-by-step wizard, navigate to the page you are evaluating using the Continue and Back buttons. For an outline wizard, click the title of the page you wish to evaluate.

  6. Read any instructions, and review the forms, artifacts, and attachments that have been submitted.

  7. In the "Evaluations" area, click Add.

  8. Complete the Evaluation form. You may be asked to fill in required fields, submit a grade or ranking, and add a comment.

  9. When you are finished filling in the Evaluation form, click Save Changes. To exit without saving your evaluation, click Cancel.

  10. After saving your changes, you will be prompted to choose one of the following workflow options:

    • Set Status to "Complete": Choose this option if no further work is required and the evaluation process is complete. The "Items", "Reflections", and "Evaluations" areas of the page will be locked.
    • No Changes to Status: Choose this option if you or other evaluators will be adding new evaluations to the page.
    • Set Status to "Returned": Choose this option to unlock the "Items" and "Reflections" areas of the page, so the student can revise, delete, or add attachments, forms, and reflections.

  11. You will be returned to the page with which you were working. Click Back to Wizard to return to the Manage Wizards page.
