In Oncourse, how do I preview a portfolio form?
Note: To complete these procedures, you must be assigned a role having the necessary permissions. To determine your role, follow the directions in Participant roles. To view a list of permissions associated with a given role, see Permissions, roles, and tools. For a basic understanding of roles and permissions, see Permissions and roles: Overview.
Before adding a form to a matrix cell or wizard page, you can preview the form to make sure it's appropriate for your intended purpose:
-
Method One: This method works for forms listed in
the Forms tool in your portfolio site, including "hidden" forms.
However, it cannot be used to preview "global" forms, i.e., forms that
the portfolio administrator has made available to all users.
- Go to the site containing the form you wish to preview.
- From the menubar, click
Formsto open the Forms tool.
- On the
Manage Formspage, locate the form you wish to preview, and clickEdit.
- On the
Edit Formpage, clickPreview. An empty version of the form will appear.
- To test the form, enter sample data in each field and
click
Validate. To return to theEdit Formpage, clickReturn.
- Click
Save ChangesorCancelto return to theManage Formspage.
- Go to the site containing the form you wish to preview.
-
Method Two: This method works for "global" forms,
but it cannot be used to preview "hidden" forms.
- Go to My Workspace.
- In the menubar, click
Resourcesto open the Resources tool.
- Open the
Addmenu next to any folder, and chooseNew Form Item.
- All of the forms to which you have access (except hidden forms)
will be listed on the
Select a Formpage. Forms are organized into groups by site (the site where the form actually resides) and then alphabetically by form name. Select the form you wish to preview, and clickContinue. An empty version of the form will appear.
- Click
Backto return to the list and preview another form, or clickCancelto return to Resources in My Workspace.
- Go to My Workspace.
