How do I share an iTunes U site with more than one Oncourse CL site?

Note: Indiana University has launched a public iTunes U site in the iTunes Store, but continues to offer iTunes U sites that require IU Network ID authentication (accessible via Oncourse CL or at http://itunes.iu.edu/). Content in the public iTunes U site is searchable by users worldwide via the iTunes Store and requires no authentication. To make your podcast available to the public, add the iTunes U tool to your Oncourse CL site, and then fill out and submit the iTunes U Request Form.

Each Oncourse CL site has its own corresponding iTunes U site. If you want to share content from one iTunes U site with another, use iTunes U's RSS registration feature:

  1. Enter the iTunes U site that contains the content you want to share, and click the specific tab you want to share.

  2. Right-click Subscribe, and then select Copy iTunes Store URL.

Note: To save the URL while you follow the next few steps, you may want to paste it into a blank text document or an email message.

  3. Enter the iTunes U site where you want to share this content. On the top right, click Edit Page.

  4. To the left of your tabs, click the + (plus sign) to create a new tab.

  5. Next to "Type", choose Feed from the drop-down list.

  6. In the "Feed URL" text box, paste the URL you copied from the first site.

  7. Next to "Security" and "Signature", select None.

  8. Next to "Check for changes", select Daily if you want the content to be kept in sync with the first site. Otherwise, you can select Never (new content on the first site will not be shared with the second site).

  9. Enter the email address of the owner of the first site's content, and then click Apply. You will see the content from the first site appear.

  10. Atop the row of tabs, enter a descriptive name for the new tab, and then, at the top right, click End Editing.
