In ePortfolio, as a site coordinator, how do I view and change the status of a wizard page?

Note: To complete the procedures in this document, you must be assigned a role having the necessary permissions. To determine your role, follow the directions in Participant roles. To view a list of permissions associated with a given role, see Permissions, roles, and tools. For a basic understanding of roles and permissions, see Permissions and roles: Overview.

Using the Manage Status feature, the site coordinator can reset the status of any wizard page for one user or all users, regardless of the previous status of the page. This may be necessary if a wizard user takes an action resulting in a change of page status that needs to be undone. For example, a student accidentally submits a page before completing a required reflection. The page is now in "Pending" status, which is read-only, so the student is unable to add the reflection. In such cases, the site coordinator can intervene and reset the status of the page.

Resetting a wizard page using the Wizards tool

  1. In your ePortfolio site, choose Wizards from the menubar.

  2. Choose the wizard you wish to access by clicking its title.

  3. When the wizard opens, from the drop-down menu, click the name of the participant whose wizard page you wish to change. A read-only copy of the wizard for the specified participant is displayed.

  4. In an outline wizard, each page's status is indicated in the status column of the wizard outline. Click the page whose status you wish to change.

  5. In the upper left corner under "Wizards", click Manage Status.

  6. From the drop-down menu next to Change Status to, choose Ready, Pending, Complete, Locked, or Returned.

  7. Choose the appropriate radio button:

    • For this user only
    • For all users

Note: Exercise extreme caution when selecting For all users. This option should only be used in rare cases when an evaluator or coordinator has made a mistake affecting all users.

  8. Click Continue to change the status and return to the wizard page, or click Cancel to return to the wizard page without changing the status.

  9. Click Back to the Wizard, and verify the page's status in the Status column.

Note: You can change the status of an entire wizard or a wizard's main page using Manage Wizard Status on the main page of a wizard. If a site coordinator sets up a wizard so that the main page has items that can be submitted, the Manage Wizard Status link allows the coordinator to manage the status of the main page.

A page's status can also be changed by an Evaluator after an evaluation has been added. For more, see Adding an evaluation using the Evaluations tool or Adding an evaluation in the Wizards tool.
