About IU Secure wireless
IU Secure is the wireless network for students, faculty, staff, and affiliates to access on all Indiana University campuses (except Indiana University - Purdue University at Fort Wayne). IU Secure uses WPA2 Enterprise (Wi-Fi Protected Access) for authentication and encryption; no VPN is needed.
For details about connecting to IU Secure, see the appropriate document for your operating system or device:
- Android OS 2.0 and later
- BlackBerry phones
- BlackBerry PlayBook
- iPhone and iPod touch
- Linux
- Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion), 10.6 (Snow Leopard), and 10.5 (Leopard)
- Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)
- Windows 7, Vista, and XP
- Windows Mobile 6 or 5
Note: To gain full Internet access for your device on the IU Secure network, you must register the device's MAC address. Before registering your MAC address, your device will be able to connect to IU Secure, but will not receive an IP address that allows a successful Internet connection. For more, see At IUB, IUPUI, and IUN, how do I register my computer or other networked device?
