Using Oncourse Assignments 2, how do I add attachments to an assignment I created?

For instructions for the original Assignments tool, see Assignments.

Note: To complete these procedures, you must be assigned a role having the necessary permissions. To determine your role, follow the directions in Participant roles. To view a list of permissions associated with a given role, see Permissions, roles, and tools. For a basic understanding of roles and permissions, see Permissions and roles: Overview.

The quota for a site is 1 GB, and the limit for individual file uploads is 200 MB unless you use WebDAV. To request a larger quota for your site, see What are the default disk quotas for UITS accounts, and how do I request an increase?

To add an attachment to a new, draft, or posted assignment that you created:

  1. In the menubar, click Assignments 2.

  2. To create a new assignment, click Add. To work on a draft or posted assignment, mouse over the assignment to highlight it, and then click Edit.

  3. To add an attachment, next to "Supporting Materials", click Add.

  4. Choose the type of attachment to add:

    • To attach a local file from your computer, you can either enter a path to the file, or click Browse and navigate to the file on your computer. If you choose the wrong file, click Remove.
    • To attach a URL, type the URL in the box provided and click Add. (You do not need to include the http:// prefix.) If you enter the wrong URL, click Remove.
    • To attach an item from Resources, click Attach a copy next to the file you wish to add. If you choose the wrong file, click Remove.

  5. After you have chosen the attachments you wish to add, click Continue.

  6. After you have added your attachment(s), edit or fill in any other necessary parameters of the assignment. At the bottom of the page, click Save to post your assignment on its open date, or click Save Draft to save the changes without making them visible to anyone else. (If the assignment is currently open to participants, you will only have the option of posting the assignment.)
