At IU, how can I acquire Identity Finder, and which editions are available?

At Indiana University, two versions of Identity Finder are available:

If you need support for Identity Finder, the program contains a comprehensive help system. You can also visit Identity Finder Enterprise Support, which offers a searchable online help system and downloadable help files, or send email to  support@identityfinder.com .

Identity Finder Enterprise Edition for Windows and Mac OS X

Identity Finder Enterprise Edition is available only to IU faculty and staff for use on IU-owned computers. To download Identity Finder Enterprise Edition:

  1. Go to the Identity Finder Enterprise Edition page for your operating system on IUware:


  2. If you are not logged into IU's Central Authentication Service (CAS), click Login, and then enter your IU Network ID credentials. Once you are logged in, click Download.

To make sure you are following Indiana University and local policies and procedures, if you are IU faculty or staff, consult with your local support provider (LSP) or computer administrator before installing Identity Finder on any IU-owned workstations.

Identity Finder Home Edition for Windows

Identity Finder Home Edition is available to IU students, faculty, and staff for personal use. IU students, faculty, and staff can download one copy free of charge.

Note: Students, faculty, and staff that have already downloaded a free copy can purchase an additional copy for $9.95 from Identity Finder.

Students

To purchase and download Identity Finder Home Edition:

  1. Go to the Identity Finder Home Edition page on IUware.

  2. On the "Secure Checkout" page, select Student from the drop-down menu, and then fill in your first name, last name, and IU email address. Click Continue.

    Note: You need to provide a valid IU email account to receive a license key from Identity Finder.

  3. On the next page, Identity Finder Home Edition should already be selected. Click Continue.

  4. Review the order and user information on the last page, and then click Submit Order.

After you submit your order, you will receive an email message containing an activation key and a direct link to download Identity Finder Home Edition.

Faculty and staff

To download Identity Finder Home Edition:

  1. Go to the Identity Finder Home Edition page on IUware.

  2. Click Login, and then enter your IU Network ID credentials. Follow the link to the vendor web site.

  3. On the "Secure Checkout" page, select Faculty/Staff from the drop-down menu, and then fill in your first name, last name, and IU email address. Click Continue.

    Note: You need to provide a valid IU email account to receive a license key from Identity Finder.

  4. On the next page, Identity Finder Home Edition should already be selected. Click Continue.

  5. Review the order and user information on the last page, and then click Submit Order.
