If I already have a BlackBerry or a mobile service plan, can I still participate in the Kelley School of Business pilot program?
For basic information about the pilot program to offer BlackBerry service to graduate students, faculty, and professional staff in the Indiana University Kelley School of Business, see About the AT&T/RIM partnership for Kelley School of Business graduate students, faculty, and professional staff.
Existing AT&T customers can switch to the service plans offered as a part of the pilot program with no penalties. However, unless you are eligible for an upgrade on your existing contract, you won't get the discount on the device. To determine your eligibility, check the AT&T web site or your MyWireless account.
If you are not eligible for an upgrade, you can still pay the full price for a BlackBerry in order to sign up for a service plan under this program.
To upgrade to a BlackBerry (with or without the device discount):
- From Kelley
BlackBerry Pilot Program, follow the link to sign up
for the program. When you reach the AT&T site for Kelley
customers, on the right side of the page, click
Enroll Nowto attach the Foundation Account Number for the program to your account.
- Enter your cellular telephone number and email address.
- You will receive an email message from AT&T; click the link in
the message. On the page that opens, choose
Kelley School of Business Graduate StudentsorKelley School of Business Employees, as appropriate.
Once this is complete, you can enter the online store and upgrade your device and service plan.
If you already have a BlackBerry, from the AT&T site for Kelley students or employees, follow the steps above to attach the Foundation Account Number to your account, and change your plan to match one of the bundled offers listed in About the AT&T/RIM partnership for Kelley School of Business graduate students, faculty, and professional staff. After you have completed both these processes, you should see the discount on the service plans.
If you have an existing contract with a different carrier, you may incur penalties from your existing provider if you switch to AT&T before your contract expires.
