At IU, what is Mobile CAS?
Indiana University uses the Central Authentication Service (CAS) to manage access to multiple password-protected IU systems and services. The Mobile CAS provides the same secure authentication for your smartphone or mobile device.
You can authenticate to Mobile CAS using your IU Network ID username and passphrase. When you log in, your phone will remain logged in for two weeks, unless you manually log out. If you lose or misplace your phone and need to invalidate its login, you can do so by changing your passphrase; see At IU, how do I change or synchronize my Network ID passphrase?
Mobile CAS manages access to the following IU Mobile Services:
-
Oncourse Mobile: Authentication allows access
to the Oncourse Dashboard.
-
Find People: Authentication allows you to
click-to-call and click-to-mail on certain phones.
- Bus/Shuttle Schedule, STC Availability, News, Campus Alerts, Emergency Contacts: Authentication takes you to your home campus information by default.
Additionally, UITS has plans to bring expanded, authenticated features to the following services in the near future:
- Campus Maps
- Emergency Information
- Events Calendar
