If you are a student and suspect your Turning Technologies ResponseCard is defective, first make sure your battery is not dead and that you are operating the device on the same channel as your instructor during class. Your instructor can help you verify a problem (see Using Turning Technologies, how can I help troubleshoot problems with a student's response device?). If you believe the problem is with the device, contact Turning Technologies as listed above. A technical support representative will work with you to confirm the problem. Turning Technologies ResponseCards are under warranty for 12 months from the production date located on the back of the ResponseCard. (The production date is a 4 digit code; 1109 means the card was produced in the 11th week of 2009). If your ResponseCard is under warranty, you will be able to exchange it at the bookstore.
A small percentage of ResponseCard RF LCDs produced between the 15th week of 2010 and the 11th week of 2011 may experience battery problems or appear to be dead. Turning Technologies has retrofitted their existing stock to remedy this problem, but will also extend a two-year warranty, exclusive for Indiana University, for all ResponseCard RF LCDs manufactured between these dates, as long as the reported problem is not related to misuse, deliberate destruction, or alteration. To check the production date of an RF LCD, look for a four-digit number (indicating the week and year of manufacture) on the back of the card. If the date is between 1510 and 1111 and the device is malfunctioning, take it to a campus bookstore for a replacement.
