At IU, how do I securely process, store, transmit, and share ePHI or HIPAA data?

For research data at IU, the Advanced IT Core provides HIPAA aligned systems and services, online help, and consulting for research involving human subjects:

  • For help with storing or processing ePHI or HIPAA data, see HIPAA Aligned Services.

Note: These systems and services cannot be used to store or process active patient data (i.e., data currently being used in patient treatment) or data protected under non-HIPAA rules such as FDA 21 CFR part 11.

  • For help with protecting your ePHI or HIPAA data, see HIPAA & AITC.
