How do I install R packages on Quarry?

To install an R package on Quarry from your account, first download the file from an R project repository using the wget command, and then install it using R CMD INSTALL -l.

Suppose you want to get a package for panel linear models plm. The following example creates a new directory bin and stores the package file plm_1.2-2.tar.gz in it. Replace username with your IU Network ID username.

username@Quarry: ~> soft add +R username@Quarry: ~> mkdir bin username@Quarry: ~> cd bin username@Quarry: ~> wget http://r-forge.r-project.org/src/contrib/plm_1.2-2.tar.gz username@Quarry: ~> R CMD INSTALL -l /N/u/username/Quarry/bin plm_1.2-2.tar.gz
