ARCHIVED: What is Lync Attendant?

Microsoft's Lync Attendant client allows people who routinely answer calls for others, handle high call volumes, or deal with multiple calls at a time to manage these calls as part of IU's UniCom service. It provides integrated caller history and conversation notes that add context on incoming callers. Attendant and the Call Delegation features it supports are best suited to UniCom Enterprise Voice; see ARCHIVED: IU UniCom feature comparison.

Lync 2010 Attendant will continue to work with IU's UniCom infrastructure following the ARCHIVED: Skype for Business migration.

For information on using the client, see Microsoft's Quick Start: Use Lync 2010 Attendant.

Note:
You cannot run Attendant and Skype for Business at the same time. If you've already launched Skype for Business, you may need to close Microsoft Outlook or restart your computer in order for Attendant to work properly.
