ARCHIVED: Where can I get information about public-use data for social science research at IUB?
If you have a research question in mind but don't know what the appropriate public-use data set is (or if it even exists) for Indiana University Bloomington, your first stop should be the Political Science Data Archive and Laboratory. The Archive and Laboratory is IU's official interface with the various clearinghouses for public-use data, some of which provide direct, network-based access.
You can also send email to the Center for Statistical and Mathematical Computing for information about public-use social science data.
Also, check with the Government Information, Microforms &
Statistical Services (GIMSS) department in the IUB Herman B Wells
Library. For help locating statistical data, consult the Data
Services and Resources page or send email to
libgpd@indiana.edu .
