About the STC in the Indiana Memorial Union

At Indiana University Bloomington, the innovative Student Technology Center (STC) at the west end of the mezzanine in the Indiana Memorial Union (IMU) is designed for collaborative and individual learning outside the classroom, and is evolving in response to community feedback.

Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the IMU STC is a study location offering many of the same services offered in the Information Commons (IC) in the Herman B Wells Library. Key features include:

  • Large-screen collaborative tables with shared laptop capability
  • Black-and-white printing
  • Color printing (8.5"x11" and a 24" plotter)
  • Scanning services
  • Charging lockers to charge your laptop while you are in class (see Personal laptop storage and charging at IUB and IUPUI)
  • 37 Windows computers and 12 Mac computers
  • Large widescreen flat-panel displays
  • Print release stations (see Information about print release stations at IUB)
  • Digital HD VCR for multimedia activities
  • Soft seating designed for comfortable laptop use
  • Extended staffing hours
