Overview

IU Enterprise Confluence allows teams in support of the Indiana University community to easily publish, organize, and access team/department information. Keep your site and content secure with granular permissions that allow you to control pages as viewable to the world, or as viewable and editable by only a few.

Confluence works in conjunction with JIRA.

  • Project collaboration: Create, share, and collaborate on projects in one place. Supports multimedia and dynamic content.
  • Team documentation: Capture, store, and add to your team documentation.
  • Knowledge base: Easily publish, organize, and access your information in one central location. Share PDFs, images, and more. Automatic versioning, instant previews, full-text search, and pinned comments make it easy to manage files.
  • Team calendars: Plan Jira software releases, plan projects, or schedule team leave, travel, and events.

Institutional data in IU Enterprise Confluence

You may not use IU Enterprise Confluence to store institutional data classified as Critical or Restricted data. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Social Security and driver's license numbers (even if considered PHI)
  • PINs and credit/payment card information (even if considered PHI)
  • Banking and student loan information
  • Student academic transcripts that contain student Social Security numbers
  • Passwords and passphrases
  • Financial account information
  • Information regulated by Export Control Laws, such as certain types of research or information about restricted items, technology, or software (see Compliance: Export Control)
