How do I save the IU-specific export schemes for use with the Turning Technologies software?

To make the process of exporting student data to Oncourse simpler, Turning Technologies has developed export schemes that can be used with both TurningPoint PC and TurningPoint AnyWhere for both Mac OS X and Windows. To save the export schemes, follow the appropriate directions below:

On this page:

TurningPoint PC

The export scheme files need to be downloaded into the Export Schemes folder of the TurningPoint folder in the Documents folder of your computer. To do so:

For a video tutorial on this process, see How to save export schemes for use with TurningPoint 2008.

  1. Download the export schemes from IUware and save them on your desktop.

  2. Click the Start menu, and open the Documents folder.

  3. Open the TurningPoint folder.

  4. You will see two folders, Participants and Sessions; the Export Schemes folder will not appear yet. To make it appear, open the TurningPoint program.

  5. In the Turning Technologies ribbon, click Tools.

  6. Go down to the Session Management submenu.

  7. Click Export Session Data.

  8. Choose any session (it doesn't matter which), and then click Next.

  9. Click the box next to Use export schemes so that you can see all the available export schemes (this will not include the IU-specific ones yet). This process reveals the Export Schemes folder. Click Cancel.

  10. Go back to the TurningPoint folder and open the Export Schemes folder.

  11. Drag the IU-specific export schemes from your desktop into the Export Schemes folder.

You can now access the export schemes from the TurningPoint program. To learn how to use these export schemes, see Using Turning Technologies and Oncourse, how can I manage student data?

  2. Click the Start menu and open the Documents folder.

  3. Open the TPAW folder.

  4. You will see three folders, Participants, Sessions, and Standards; the Export Schemes folder will not appear yet. To make it appear, open the TurningPoint AnyWhere program.

  5. Under the "Create and Manage" section of the opening window, click Results.

  6. Click Export Wizard.

  7. Click the drop-down menu so that you can see all the available export schemes (this will not include the IU-specific ones yet); the action of opening the export wizard will have caused the Export Schemes folder to be revealed.

  8. Go back to the TPAW folder and open the Export Schemes folder.

  9. Drag the IU-specific export schemes from the desktop into the Export Schemes folder.
