ARCHIVED: What are the minimum requirements for Cisco Jabber Video (Movi)?

Important:
Indiana University Collaboration Technologies is no longer provisioning new Cisco Jabber Video accounts for IU users because this service is approaching end of life with its vendor, Cisco.

To use Jabber Video (Movi), your computer must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Operating system:
    • Windows 7 or newer
    • Mac OS X 10.8 or newer
  • Processor: Intel x86 processor, Core 2 Duo @ 2 GHz with 2 MB L2 cache per core; AMD Athlon 64 X2 @ 2 GHz or above with SSE3 support
  • Memory: 512 MB of RAM
  • Graphics card: OpenGL version 1.2; hardware support for DirectX 8 (Windows only)
  • Audio: Any standard sound card (full-duplex, 16-bit minimum); analog or USB headset is recommended for best quality audio
  • Video: Any built-in or external USB webcam; Cisco TelePresence PrecisionHD USB Camera is recommended for best quality video
  • Bandwidth: 128 kbps minimum; 384 kbps upload / 512 kbps download recommended for business-quality video

    Jabber Video (Movi) video quality may be affected by other users on your home broadband connection, particularly if they are using bandwidth-intensive applications (e.g., Skype, online gaming, video streaming) at the same time you are using Jabber Video.

Note:
IU Collaboration Technologies cannot guarantee the Jabber Video client will work when used from off-campus networks, and can provide only limited troubleshooting support for performance issues related to an individual user's machine or network.
