Downloading a book to read offline

To read a book or other item offline, you first need to download it while online. To do so:

  1. Access Courseload eTexts through Oncourse using Chrome for Windows or Mac OS X. (Chrome for iOS and Android are not supported.)
  2. To the right of the Chrome address bar, click the Courseload offline icon to open Courseload Engage for Chrome.
  3. Once Courseload Engage for Chrome is open, and while you still have Internet access, toggle the "Use Offline" switch to ON for each piece of content that you want to download for offline use.
  4. Wait for the system to download the content completely before closing Courseload Engage for Chrome or disconnecting from the Internet.

Important: When offline, do not toggle the "Use Offline" switch to OFF. If you do so, you will not be able to access the piece of content until after you go back online and toggle the switch back to ON.

You can read your offline version of the book for up to 14 days; after that time, the offline copy will expire, and you'll need to connect to the Internet to renew the lease. To do so, open Courseload Engage for Chrome while online; the application will automatically renew the lease on your content.
