Clicker channel

To make sure your clicker is on the correct channel:

  1. Ask your instructor what channel the receiver is set to. The default channel is 41, so if your instructor has never changed it, it will be on channel 41.
  2. Press the Channel button on your clicker.
  3. Enter the correct channel number.
  4. If you are using an RF or RF-LCD model clicker, push the Channel button again to complete the channel change process.

If using an NXT model clicker, push the center/submit button to complete the channel change process.

  5. Attempt to submit another answer when your instructor opens polling again.

Batteries

To make sure your batteries are working properly, check the following:

  • Make sure you have removed the plastic tabs from the battery compartment on your device.
  • If the plastic tabs have been removed and the clicker is still not working, on an RF-LCD or NXT model clicker, push a button on the clicker to turn the screen on. If the screen turns on, check the battery icon to see if the battery level is low.
  • If you are using an RF model clicker, push a button and watch to see if the light flashes at all. If not, the battery may be dead.
  • Try removing the batteries and putting them right back in; this resets the clicker and may fix the situation.

To replace batteries on an RF or RF-LCD device, you will need a #3 Phillips screwdriver to remove the battery cover, as well as two coin cell CR2032 (3.0V) lithium batteries.

To replace batteries on an NXT device, you will need a #3 Phillips screwdriver to remove the battery cover, as well as 2 AAA batteries.

Course participant list

Your instructor may not have updated the participant list since you registered or re-registered your clicker. Ask your instructor to update the participant list to make sure it is the current version.
