At IU, how do I search for and order eTexts?
Through Indiana University's eTexts initiative, faculty and administrators can use eDocs to request eTexts for specific sections. eText information is posted in the Schedule of Classes and is displayed to students in their class schedule details, viewable in the SIS Student Center.

Searching for eTexts
Faculty and departmental Textbook Coordinators can search for available eTexts across available publishers using the eText Search Tool.
If you do not see the eText you wish to adopt for your section, you
may request an eText by clicking the Email Publisher link in
the eText Search Tool. The publisher will contact you to let you know
whether your eText is available, and if so, will add it to the IU
database for ordering.

Timelines
Faculty and Textbook Coordinators will be able to order eTexts until registration begins for the campus, career, and term in which the eText is being offered. Once student registration begins, and up to 60 days prior to the start of the term, eTexts can still be ordered if approval is provided by the applicable department. (Check with your department chair to ensure the department has identified an eText approver.) The department will be required to contact any students who have already enrolled in the section to inform them that an eText fee is being added to the section.
