In Lync 2010 for Windows, you can park a call so that you or another party can retrieve it from another location. This may be useful in situations such as the following:

  • You received a call in an open area, and wish to continue the call from another phone in a more private location.
  • You want to transfer a call, but don't know the specific name or number of the person who should take the call.

For instructions, see the "Park a call" section of Microsoft's Transfer calls.

Note: In Lync for Mac, you can use the "park a call" transfer feature only if you have CX600 equipment.
