About end of life for Windows 8.0, 7, Vista, and XP

Microsoft discontinued support for Windows 7 on January 14, 2020. Support for Windows 8 (but not Windows 8.1) ended on January 12, 2016. Previous operating systems haven't been supported for several years, and no longer receive critical security updates. To ensure the highest security standards, the Support Center no longer registers devices running those operating systems to the IU network. UITS strongly recommends that you look into the options for replacing or upgrading your devices for full compatibility with IU systems. Since most computers running older operating systems are several years old, many may be incapable of running newer ones.
