ARCHIVED: At IU, can I play games on UITS computers?

This content has been archived, and is no longer maintained by Indiana University. Information here may no longer be accurate, and links may no longer be available or reliable.

At Indiana University, UITS workstations and computer systems are intended only for purposes related to the university's mission of education, research, and public service. IU students, faculty, and staff may use these computing resources only for purposes related to their studies, instruction, jobs, and other university-sanctioned activities.

If a Student Technology Center (STC) is full and students are waiting to use a computer, anyone doing non-academic work will be asked to leave. See Guidelines for use of the STCs.

Game servers and IRC are prohibited on UITS central computing systems, but you may use the IU network to access such services as long as such activity does not interfere with the academic use of IU's computing systems.
