If I've lost my SafeWord card or its batteries are dead, what should I do?

If you have lost your SafeWord card, contact your SafeWord card coordinator if you have one; otherwise call your campus Support Center to request a replacement card or a temporary card until you find yours. Staff will need to contact UITS Accounts Administration to request that the new card be assigned to your account.

Note: Policies on lost cards (e.g., fees, replacement) vary from campus to campus. You will be informed of these policies when you pick up a new card.

Because the cards are tamper-proof, the batteries cannot be replaced. If the batteries on your SafeWord card die, return your card (call your SafeWord card coordinator if you have one, or your computing Support Center, for information on where to return it) and you'll be issued a new one. You can also check with your departmental SafeWord card coordinator to see if a spare card can be temporarily assigned to your account.
