What is the default storage space for various UITS accounts, and how do I request an increase?

Following are the default storage allotments on UITS central systems, and instructions for requesting increases.

To submit a storage increase request, you must be the owner of the account, and include the following information in your request:

  • Network ID username of the account
  • System name for the increase
  • Amount of increase you are requesting
Account Default storage
Box 50 GB
To request additional space, send details to  valid@indiana.edu  or  actadmin@iupui.edu . Your request will be reviewed by system administrators; increases may not always be possible.
Cyrus mail 500 MB
To request an increase, contact your campus Support Center.
IU Exchange 500 MB

Imail 5 GB
Hosted by Microsoft; UITS cannot adjust this size.
Umail 5+ GB
Hosted by Google; UITS cannot adjust this size.
Oncourse Resources 4 GB for course, project, and portfolio sites
  1 GB for My Workspace
Faculty and staff can request storage increases for course sites. Send a request, including an explanation of why you need the extra space, to  oncrs@iu.edu , or contact your campus Support Center.
SharePoint Site 20 GB
To request additional space for any SharePoint site, send details to  valid@indiana.edu  or  actadmin@iupui.edu . Your request will be reviewed by system administrators; increases may not always be possible.
Mercury 1 GB
Increases are currently not available.
