Note: If you do not have administrative rights for the system on which you need support, contact your system administrator.
To get support for Linux and Unix systems, Indiana University students, faculty, and staff can email the UITS Support Center. Faculty and staff also may consult their departmental IT support personnel.
Linux Users' Groups (LUGs) comprise individuals collaborating online and in-person to educate and support new and existing Linux users. For support at IU, consult either of the local LUGs:
For distribution-specific support, training, and advice from experts around the world, consult any of several open source development communities; for example:
- Fedora Project
- FreeBSD Community
- openSUSE Connect
- Oracle Solaris Community
- Red Hat Community
- Ubuntu Community
