Glossary help

The Knowledge Base Glossary provides a collection of Knowledge Base documents that define many computing terms. These terms are arranged alphabetically, but you can quickly jump to a specific term by selecting its first letter from the index at the beginning of the glossary.

Following each term, you will see a question that asks for the definition of the term. Each question is linked to a Knowledge Base document that defines the term.

At the bottom of each Knowledge Base document are links to other relevant documents, most of which are not in the glossary.

At the top of each Knowledge Base document is a search box where you can enter a search term. If the definition of a term does not provide you with enough information, try searching the Knowledge Base for this or related terms. For example, if you type firewire in the search box and click Search, you will receive a list of all the documents in the Knowledge Base related to FireWire.

The glossary interface to the Knowledge Base lists only definitional documents. Of the approximately 14,500 questions and answers currently in the Knowledge Base (about half of which are active), the glossary lists only about 600. All 14,500+ documents, however, are available by searching.

For help with searching the Knowledge Base, see Knowledge Base search help.
