Note: UITS is replacing the Shakespeare and Jewel systems with a new email environment called Cyrus mail. For information about the new system, see the Knowledge Base document ARCHIVED: What is Cyrus mail? On the new system, you can access your mail via IU Webmail or a desktop client, but not via Pine. For more information about your email options, see the Knowledge Base document ARCHIVED: If I used Pine on the Shakespeare or Jewel systems, what do I need to know about the recent email upgrade?

For an explanation of quotas on the Shakespeare and Jewel systems at Indiana University, see the Knowledge Base document ARCHIVED: On the Shakespeare and Jewel systems, what are IMAP and local quotas?

If you have filled more than 95 percent of your IMAP quota or have gone over your IMAP quota, the server will attempt to alert you. Be aware that some email programs will not show these warnings. Once you run out of space, you will not receive new mail and a polite bounce message will be sent to the return-path of the sender. To free up space, you must delete messages from your Inbox and other message folders. For more information, see the Knowledge Base document ARCHIVED: About your Cyrus mail storage space
