What was Cyrus (Webmail)?
Cyrus mail was Indiana University's IMAP email system. IU Webmail was a web-based email service that allowed access to accounts on the Cyrus mail system. Cyrus was retired on February 1, 2016, after a two-year communication and migration effort.
If you did not move the email content of your Cyrus account to an IU Exchange account, you may still be able to request an automated migration. To do so, you must have an Exchange account; if you do not already have one, you will need to create one. You must also set your email forwarding so that your mail will be delivered to Exchange, and not to Cyrus; for instructions, see At IU, how do I forward my email? You'll access your account either via an email client like Outlook, or on the web via Outlook Web App (OWA); for more, see Reading your Exchange email.
You can then request automated migration through the Cyrus Account Migration tool at:
You will receive email notice before your account is moved and when the migration is complete. You can use your Exchange account during the migration.
For help or more information about migration, contact your campus Support Center.
For more information about the email systems available at IU, see At IU, what is my email address?
