ARCHIVED: In my browser, how do I download an inline or background image from a web page?
An inline image appears alongside text in a web page, while a background image usually appears in a tiled pattern behind the text. Both kinds of image can be in either JPEG or GIF format. You can use Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari to download an inline or background image, according to the appropriate steps below.

Internet Explorer
To download an inline image:
- Right-click the image you want to download, and then click .
- Choose the location to which you would like to save the image and click .
To download a background image, right-click the background image you
want to download and click Save Picture
dialog box will appear, allowing you to
select the directory in which you want to save the image.
Firefox
To download an inline image:
- Right-click the image you want to download, and choose .
- Choose the location to which you would like to save the image, and then click .
To download a background image, right-click the background image you want to download. Click
, and then follow the instructions for downloading an inline image.Safari
To download an inline image, click and drag the image to the desktop
or to a document in another application. You can also

background image in the document's <body> tag (it should be near
