Accessing Oncourse

  1. To log into Oncourse, visit:

Note: For more information concerning supported web browsers, see ARCHIVED: To access Oncourse, which web browser should I use? When you attempt to log into Oncourse, if you are redirected to a warning page that instructs you to enable cookies, you may not have cookies enabled or you may need to clear your browser's cache and cookies. For more information, and for help enabling cookies in your browser, see ARCHIVED: Cookies in Oncourse.

  2. Click the CAS Login button. This will take you to Indiana University's Central Authentication Service (CAS).

  3. Type your IU Network ID or Guest account username and password, and then click Login.

Logging in successfully takes you to your Profile page in Oncourse. Your Profile offers direct links to all your current courses, to courses from previous semesters, and to several Oncourse customization tools.

Note: Previously, users with both an IU student ID and an IU faculty ID needed to maintain two accounts in Oncourse. Now, Oncourse has been modified to show all courses a user is either taking or teaching within a single account.

To access Oncourse, most IU users need an IU Network ID. If you are at IPFW, or are participating unofficially in a course without formally working or studying at IU, you will need an IU Guest account. For more information, see ARCHIVED: At IU, how do I create a Guest account?

All new IU students, faculty, and staff receive Network IDs with their initial computing accounts. To verify that you have a Network ID:

  1. Go to the Account Management Service (AMS) at:
  2. Click Manage my IU computing accounts.

  3. Log in using your username and password, and click Continue.

Note: If you are not sure of your username or password, see ARCHIVED: At IU, if I forget my passphrase on a UITS shared central system, what should I do?

  4. Under "Select a service:", click view your accounts. If you don't see the Network ID account listed, see Create your first IU computing accounts (admitted students, faculty, staff, affiliates, and those returning to IU)
