As of July 1, 2022, many statistical and mathematical software packages that were previously available for purchase are available to students, faculty, and staff without fee. For details, see ARCHIVED: Changes to distribution of statistical and mathematical software at IU.

Mathematica is an interactive computational software package for performing numerical, graphic, and algebraic calculations. Developed and maintained by Wolfram Research, Mathematica incorporates a high-level programming language that lets you define your own procedures.

At Indiana University, Mathematica is available for use by IU students, faculty, and staff:

To use Mathematica on personal computers, IU students, faculty, and staff can purchase leases from UITS Research Applications and Deep Learning (RADL). Leases are good for one year and must be renewed annually. For purchasing information, see ARCHIVED: Changes to distribution of statistical and mathematical software at IU.

For an introduction to Mathematica, see the Getting Started with Mathematica tutorial.
