Download and install software from IUware

To download and install software at IU, go to IUware. The system should automatically detect your platform (Windows, Mac, or Linux) and display the relevant available software both in the main frame and in the category listing on the left. If you don't see the software for your operating system, at the top of the left navigation column, click your operating system.

To begin downloading the software you want, log in with your IU username and passphrase. To do so, in the upper right, click Log In, or, on a software download page, click Log in to access downloads and product keys. After logging in, click Download. Follow any on-screen prompts.

  • Windows:

The IUware software installer should run automatically. If it does not, navigate to the directory on your computer where you saved the downloaded program and double-click its icon. Follow the prompts to install.

  • macOS:

In most cases, files will be processed automatically. This includes decompressing files, mounting disk images, running installer packages, or, in cases where there is no installer, placing the software into your download folder. If the downloaded files are not automatically opened or installed, double-click the downloaded disk image or compressed file. Once the image mounts on your desktop or is otherwise unarchived, to install it, either open any included installer package, or drag and drop the software into your Applications folder.
