ARCHIVED: In IU Webmail, why are some of my sent messages not reaching their recipients, especially those outside of Indiana University?

This content has been archived, and is no longer maintained by Indiana University. Information here may no longer be accurate, and links may no longer be available or reliable.

IU Webmail does not use aliases or nicknames; thus if you do not specify a domain (such as @yahoo.com), IU Webmail will use the default domain @indiana.edu. For email addresses outside of Indiana University, use the complete address (e.g., jsmith@yahoo.com). For instance, if you enter only jsmith, your email will go to jsmith@indiana.edu if such an address exists at IU. If not, you'll get a message saying your mail could not be delivered.

Alternatively, add your colleagues and friends to your IU Webmail address book. Then, when composing a message, click Address Book and select the person to whom you're writing. For more, see ARCHIVED: In my IU Webmail address book, how do I add or remove entries?
