On IU's streaming servers, what types of files can I stream?

Note:
Effective April 2017, new Digital Streaming Media account creation is suspended. If you currently have an account, you may continue to use it until further notice. IU's Kaltura service is available to IU community members who need a media streaming service.

On Indiana University's streaming servers, you can stream the following file types:

  • Windows Media: You can stream Windows Media files ending with the extensions .wmv, .wma, or .asf. Streaming to Microsoft Silverlight players is also supported.
  • Flash: You can stream FLV, MPEG4 (H.264 video/AAC audio), and MP3 files from the Flash Streaming Server.
