ARCHIVED: Technical information for COLL P155 at IUB

This content has been archived, and is no longer maintained by Indiana University. Information here may no longer be accurate, and links may no longer be available or reliable.

At Indiana University Bloomington, COLL P155 (Public Oral Communication) requires students to:

  • Watch video lectures on Kaltura, linked in the left-hand menu of the Canvas course site for the lecture section of the course. (Click the three lines in the upper left to reveal the menu.) The video may take up to 40 seconds to load.
  • Read and take embedded quizzes in an eBook created with SoftChalk. The eBook is linked from the Assignments page of the Canvas course site for the lab section of the course. All mini-units will stay up until the end of the semester, but you can only receive points for the quizzes and assignments until the class period for which they're assigned.

If you have difficulty accessing the eBook, try the following:

    • Refresh your browser.
    • Try a different browser (e.g., if you were using Safari, try Chrome).
    • Restart your computer.

See also SoftChalk's Student Guide to SoftChalk Lessons (PDF).

  • Set up and post to a public blog. Wordpress is recommended, but other services are acceptable, as long as there is a dedicated URL for the class blog assignments. See this video tutorial on setting up a Wordpress blog.
